A very successful day for our sponsored open pairs tournament, inviting clubs and bowlers for Bournemouth and surrounding areas such as Southampton, Portsmouth, Salisbury and Sherbourne to compete for prize money kindly sponsored by Lester Brunt Wealth Management.

We were blessed with sunshine all day after overnight heavy rain. The 32 teams played in a knockout style tournament of 7 ends each to determine the last 8 before lunch. Bournemouth BC had 3 pairs in the final 8 which was a great achievement for everyone.

The afternoon saw 8 pairs play in the quarter finals before arriving with the final two teams.

Some fabulous bowls were played by everyone however, the final between, Perry Martin and John O'Donnel from Boscombe Cliff BC and Tom Warner and Fraser Boynton from Salisbury BC was a masterclass in precision bowling, to much applause from the clubhouse. A closely fought match with Perry and John just winning on the last of the 7 ends.

A big thank you to all of our competitors, helpers and guests making the day enjoyable.

Regards

Kim Hunt
